KIMBERLY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A man on probation for attacking a woman on an Appleton trail nearly a decade ago was arrested last week, suspected of sexually assaulting a woman in Kimberly.
Around 8 p.m. on April 16, officers responded to the intersection of E. Maes Avenue and Pine Street in Kimberly for a report of a sexual assault.
A woman reported that while she was on a walk, she was approached and inappropriately touched by a man who immediately ran away.
Officers conducted a canvas in the area. Using security camera footage from a residential property, officers were able to identify a suspicious vehicle and person who was near the scene at the time it occurred. Additionally, investigators were able to use various traffic cameras to positively identify the vehicle and the driver.
The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Milan Stewart of Manitowoc. He is currently being held in the Manitowoc County Jail on a probation hold. He is currently on probation for a 2015 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and Suffocation conviction in Outagamie County for an attack on an individual who was walking on the Newberry Trail in Appleton.
Police say they are recommending fourth degree sexual assault, stalking and disorderly conduct charges against Stewart. Formal charges have not been filed.
